Job Title: Marketing Team Internship (Doorknocker)

Reason for the Hire: To grow our number of leads in response to rising market demands; anticipated 20% annual growth for the next decade

Reports to: Sales Coordinator

Part Time: 9-18 hrs./wk. Monday-Saturday 3 hours shifts (varies with academic schedules)

*Wed weekly meeting 3pm

Expected Results: This person walks our target neighborhoods (where we are advertising and where we have current jobsites happening). They knock on doors and offer homeowners a free quote while we are in the neighborhood. They also put up signs and leave behind doorknob hangers. They can also spend blocks of prospecting time calling our past customers from the office.

Work Environment: Scattered neighborhoods in New Haven County and Fairfield

County in Connecticut.

Hourly Pay; Performance Bonuses


SAMPLE SUMMER SCHEDULE

Monday: 3 hours door knocking

Tuesday: 3 hours door knocking

Wednesday: 1 hour calling past customer list

Thursday: 3 hours door knocking

Friday: 3 hours door knocking

Saturday: 3 hours door knocking

Knowledge & Abilities: What does this person have to know and be able to do?

-Command of the MDF Door Knocking Process (Introduction, Appointment Set, etc.)


Personality style shows openness to meet new people and directness in communication

Comfortable embracing uncomfortable moments with new people.

Communication Skills: This person must speak well. They must be comfortable communicating over the phone and in-person with teammates and customers. They must go above and beyond in customer service.

Values: They should be honest. They should care about the people around them (both customers and fellow salespeople). They should welcome a fast-paced environment

and enjoy solving problems and staying organized and on-task. They should value hard work and integrity. They should value getting the details right.

Attitude: They must remain positive in their outlook. Friendly, confident, loyal are critical

attributes but they must also be comfortable in the chaos of an ever-changing schedule. They have to be self-governing and capable of controlling their own time blocks and accomplishing tasks efficiently.
